| Throughout his career as a nationally respected Irish musician Brian Miller has often endured a bit of ribbing. How did a guy from northern Minnesota with no Irish ancestry fall in love with all those jigs, reels and Come All Ye's? In his search to relate his beloved music to his Midwestern roots Miller looked back to Minnesota's early European immigrants and found that Irish songs once lived on among the workers in the very industry that founded his hometown of Bemidji. Many Irish immigrants found work in American lumber camps in the late 1800s where they sang songs both remembered from the old country and also composed about their hard lives working in the north woods. Miller has been unearthing a unique selection of these ballads that were collected in Minnesota in the early 20th century from aging lumbermen who had worked in the old camps where trees were cut by hand, logs were driven down rivers and bunkhouses were alive with song.

| Valley Dance & Arts Academy is a performance based dance studio where everyone is welcome and families are encouraged to learn and grow together. Tim and Tibbe Luell began their studio in 2004 with the idea that they could foster a pre-collegiate, performance based studio with a comfortable hometown atmosphere near the Twin Cities. They work everyday to keep the environment pleasant and positive for all who enter.
We encourage our youngest dancers to experiment with movement and still be a kid! We develop the strength of our tweens and teens to better their dancing or give them an edge in sports. We help our adults understand their bodies and make movement comfortable. Our performers learn to dance for their audience and not just themselves.

 | SUEDE BABY is an acoustic/electric combo of four pieces. The pure, sultry vocals & thoughtful lyrics of Kristen Freyja Solberg & the exceptional guitar work of Nick Hall weave the front end of this ensemble. The two compose the roots of their original compositions, while Kyle Bonderson on drums /percussion & Sigurd (Sig Daddy) Nordskog on bass round out the groovin' backbone. Serving up original music inspired by Jazz standards, R&B, roots, & funkified rock, peppered with familiar covers of the same genres, Suede Baby is sure to leave you with your toes tapping. The charming chemistry, between the foursome, both artistically & personally, is rare & makes for a mind-altering experience. At least for an hour or two, all appears to be well with the world. For more information about Suede Baby go to: http://www.Suedebaby.com
